Is there an easy way to stop smoking?
This is a question that many smokers ask themselves when they first start to think seriously about the idea of quitting, but as anyone who has tried and failed to quit smoking at their first attempt will confirm, giving up cigarettes is a challenge that very few people find easy, even when they resort to using smoking cessation aids such as nicotine patches or quit smoking pills.
Nicotine is a very addictive substance, and the cravings that one experiences when trying to give it up can be very uncomfortable and difficult to deal with for a great many people, which is why so few people are able to simply quit smoking by going cold turkey - at least not at their first attempt.
While giving up smoking is unlikely to be easy (unless you're a very lucky person) there are ways to make it easier. You can make stopping smoking far less stressful and annoying than it might otherwise be by using smoking cessation aids such as nicotine patches or gum, or by using quit smoking pills such as EZ Quit, which help to make giving up much easier by reducing your cravings.
In short, there is unfortunately no really simple, easy way to just give up smoking at the drop of a hat. It is an inevitable part of using an addictive drug that ceasing it's use causes your body to crave it, which in turn leads to side effects and symptoms such as nervousness and irritability. You can however make giving up considerably easier with proper planning and preparation, getting yourself into the right frame of mind, and of course by using quit smoking pills such as EZ Quit or nicotine replacement therapy such as gum or patches.
